The Shenzhen Institute of Economics and Management (SIEM), Tsinghua University was established in collaboration by Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management and Futian Government with the support of Shenzhen government. Aspiring to be a world-class business school with corresponding faculty and academic environment, SIEM is built with strong scientific research capabilities and top-level practice and teaching facilities.

SIEM is committed to providing high-quality education, conducting first-class scientific research, and promoting commercialization of research outputs in Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area. It also aims to help Tsinghua attract and cultivate top talents, create a leading platform for economics and management research and practice. SIEM is committed to support Shenzhen to be a pilot demonstration area of socialism with Chinese characteristics and a center of innovation and entrepreneurship with global impact.

Based on the needs of high-quality development of Shenzhen and the Greater Bay Area, SIEM focuses on the following important tasks:

-Building innovative education programs through Tsinghua Shenzhen Institute of Graduate -Studies (SIGS) to train management talents and playing Tsinghua SEM’s enabling role in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem;

-Attracting and cultivating top academic talents to work in Futian District, Shenzhen;

-Telling the “Shenzhen story” and building thought leadership;

-Supporting the various education programs of Tsinghua SEM and Tsinghua SIGS.
