◣Overview

As a key national development strategy, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) serves as a critical engine for regional collaborative innovation and international competitiveness. Shenzhen, as the core hub of the “Dual Zone” initiative and a Pilot Demonstration Zone of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, carries the important mission of exploring innovative reform paths and driving high-quality development. In this context, the establishment of the Research Center for Computational Finance at SIEM holds profound strategic significance.

The Center is fully integrated into the overarching framework of the “Dual Zone” initiative and guided by national strategic priorities. Its goal is to become a comprehensive research hub that seamlessly combines academic research with industrial collaboration. Leveraging the outstanding faculty resources of Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School—including the Institute of Innovation Management and the Institute of Data and Information—the Center explores cutting-edge topics in financial technology. The Center aims to advance theoretical innovation, technological development, and practical application in FinTech, helping SIEM secure a leading academic position in the FinTech field and attract top research talent. The Center will also collaborate with enterprises on applied research projects and pilot implementations. By accumulating practical experience, the Center seeks to cultivate world-class FinTech talent for the School of Economics and Management, Shenzhen, and the nation as a whole. Ultimately, the Center aspires to be an innovation engine and thought leader in FinTech, contributing expertise to China’s high-quality economic development and its strategy of fostering an open economy.
